"Telework Trends and Best Practices": FREE National Teleconference, December 18, 2008

If you are an entrepreneur looking for strategies and tools to keep your workforce productive and content during this challenging economic period, you may want to consider implementing a telework program. Even if your business or organization already offers workplace flexibility through telework, you may benefit from a December 18, U.S. Department of Labor, Women’s Bureau FREE national teleconference: "Telework Trends & Best Practices: How Today's Economic and Environmental Factors are Influencing Telework Options."

On the website, you will also find a power point presentation prepared by featured speaker Elham Shirazi, an expert in transportation planning and telework. Ms. Shirazi has developed and evaluated telework programs for hundreds of public and private firms including GE Energy, Home Depot, Delta Airlines, Kaiser Permanent, AT&T, County of Los Angeles and the State of Georgia. She will share employer and employee benefits of telework; best practices and trends that are shaping its growth.

Two entrepreneurs will also present their frontline experiences with implementing a telework option in their firms. Kathy Durfee, CEO, TechHouse and Lisa Gabriel, Senior Recruiter, Image Right, Inc. will review why their firms adopted telework programs, and lessons learned.

Flex Options is a project sponsored by the Women's Bureau, U.S. Department of Labor. The program is designed to encourage and help business owners and organizations develop workplace flexibility policies and procedures in response to the growing demand for such options in the workplace.
