Commons Sense Regulatory Reform Measures Advance In U.S. House

SBE Council supported the House Oversight and Government Reform (OGR) Committee's markup of important regulatory reform measures last week. The Committee marked up this package on April 26. Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif) notes SBE Council's support of the measures, and requests that our letter of endorsement be inserted into the congressional record. Specfically, one provision would place a temporary moratorium on major new regulations (with common sense exceptions). This provision passed on a party line vote. Another measure would end the practice of "midnight regulations," which passed on voice vote. Several other reform measures advanced as well. SBE Council plans to "Key Vote" this package when it reaches the floor for a full House vote in the future. Karen Kerrigan, President & CEO
